28% Silk Mohair (Mulberry Silk) + 72% Mohair Super Kid (Kid Mohair) 🤎

How to wash:
Always handwash and lay flat to dry - Handle with care and make sure not to stretch your knit while wet.

Le Petit Silk & Mohair is composed of 30% Mulberry Silk and 70% Super Kid Mohair, creating a beautifully soft and luxurious quality. We developed Le Petit Silk & Mohair with our producers in Italy, dyed in the same shades as our Le Petit Lambswool so they can be knitted together to create incredible texture combinations.

The color names are the same for both Le Petit Silk & Mohair and Le Petit Lambswool. You can knit Le Petit Silk & Mohair single-stranded (ideal for small projects like shawls and little scarves — for a sweater it may be too fragile when knitted single due to possible frictions where wearing the sweater), double-stranded, or held together with another yarn such as Le Petit Lambswool, Le Lambswool, or Le Gros Lambswool for different effects.

Colors:
We photographed the skeins so you can see the closest possible representation of the actual colors, but there may be slight variations from one screen to another, as well as from one dye lot to the next.

PROCESS
Le Gros Silk & Mohair is spun and dyed in Italy, in mills renowned for their expertise and for their respectful, responsible practices toward both the environment and the people who work there.

FIBER ORIGIN & ANIMAL CARE
This soft and luminous yarn brings together two extraordinary natural fibers:
– Silk from China
– Mohair from South Africa, sourced from Angora goats raised with care

Silk:
The silk we use comes from leftover silk and from cocoons from which the butterflies have already emerged. It is therefore a fiber produced with full respect for animal life.

Mohair:
Our mohair comes from South African farms committed to sustainable and respectful practices. The Angora goats are shorn gently by skilled hands, in calm and safe conditions. They live outdoors, have access to fresh water, veterinary care, and are protected from predators. These farms follow the principles of the Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS): ensuring animal welfare, responsible pasture management, and nature-friendly practices. It is an ethical and sustainable production — a regenerative approach that preserves soil, protects water, maintains biodiversity, and secures the future of the fiber. A complete approach where the quality of the yarn and respect for life go hand in hand.
