Athens Collar Cardigan by Soop Knits

Construction
'The Athens Collar Cardigan is a drop-shoulder cardigan featuring classic and beautiful Aran textures, with its softly curved collar as the main focal point.
The cardigan is worked from the top down, beginning with the saddle pieces. Stitches are picked up from the saddles to work the back, which is shaped at the shoulders using short rows, then knitted down to the underarms. Stitches are then picked up from the saddles to work the fronts. The fronts are also shaped at the shoulders with short rows and knitted down to the underarms, just like the back. The front and back pieces are then joined to work the body in one piece.
Stitches are picked up along the front edges to create the button bands, and along the neckline to knit the neckband and collar. The sleeves are knitted in the round after picking up stitches around the armholes. The cardigan is finished by sewing on the buttons.
Illustrations and video references are provided for all delicate sections. Charts are offered separately for each size. To support beginners who may struggle with reading charts for the short-row shaping in the repeated seed-stitch section, the full rows are shown without relying on repeat indicators — simply follow the chart as written. For the lower body, the repeat instructions are not charted; continue working the established pattern.'
