Lauma Shawl by Inese Sang

Sale price€70,58 EUR

We are delighted to present Lauma Shawl, designed by Inese Sang with Biches & Bûches Le Petit Lambswool 🐚

'Lauma Shawl, with its translucent fabric and soothing textures, is an ode to the classical charm of vintage lace. Inspired by simplicity and ingenuity of eyelet lace, the shawl seamlessly shifts between two textures and colourways, creating an enchanting knitting experience. Named after forest fairies in Latvian folklore – tiny, flickering lights darting across the forest floor – always to be seen, never to be caught, Lauma Shawl brings that elusive, radiant light to its stitches.' - Inese Sang

Details

Construction
'Lauma is an asymmetrical shawl, worked from the smallest tip with the regular increases at the end of RS rows until the final size has been reached. The large-scale CC lace panel is worked simultaneously with the main body, joining both colours with an intarsia method at the colour switch on RS and WS of the project. After the final size has been reached, the applied lace edge is worked in MC yarn - first, along the live stitches, then - using the same circular needle the stitches are picked up along the CC lace panel and applied lace border is being worked there until the initial cast-on tip of the shawl.
The pattern includes two types of instructions: full written instructions, and full charted instructions which means you do not have to consult written instructions if you wish to work from charts only.' - Inese Sang
