About Le Petit Silk & Mohair
Le Petit Silk & Mohair is composed of 30% Mulberry Silk and 70% Super Kid Mohair, creating a beautifully soft and luxurious quality. We developed Le Petit Silk & Mohair with our producers in Italy, dyed in the same beautiful colors and nuances as Le Petit Lambswool so they can be knit together and create incredible texture combinations.

Colors
The color names are the same for both Le Petit Silk & Mohair and Le Petit Lambswool for reference. Le Petit Silk & Mohair can be knit single-stranded (for small projects like shawls and little scarves — for a sweater it may be too fragile when knitted single due to possible friction when wearing the Jumper), double-stranded, or held together with another yarn such as Le Petit Lambswool, Le Lambswool, or Le Gros Lambswool for different results.
We photographed the skeins in a way that shows the closest possible representation of the real color, but slight variations may occur from one screen to another, as well as from one dye lot to the next.

Process
Le Petit Silk & Mohair is spun and dyed in Italy, in mills renowned for their expertise and for their respectful practices toward both the environment and the people who work there.
This soft and luminous yarn brings together two extraordinary natural fibers:
– Silk from China, from leftover silk and from cocoons from which the butterflies have already emerged before production, it is therefore a fiber made with respect for animal life.
– Mohair from South Africa, from Angora goats raised with care, from farms committed to a sustainable and respectful approach. The Angora goats are shorn gently, by skilled hands, in calm and safe conditions. They live outdoors, with access to fresh water, veterinary care, and protection from predators. These farms follow the principles of the Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS) — ensuring animal welfare, responsible pasture management, and practices that respect nature. This is an ethical and sustainable production: a regenerative approach that preserves soil, protects water, maintains biodiversity, and secures the future of the fiber.
A holistic philosophy where the quality of the yarn and the respect for living beings go hand in hand.
