We are very excited about our first collaboration between Biches & Bûches and Rebecca Clow. Rebecca's design is featured in issue 47 of PomPom Magazine.

When we think of green it’s hard not to think of being outdoors among nature. Spending time with an abundance of greenery is associated with increased wellbeing, and seeing those first springtime leaves and buds tells us that the time of new growth has begun – something to look forward to during the winter months. Viridian is named after green, but in this case it’s a pigment that was first prepared in Paris in the mid 1800s. The word is derived from the latin viridis meaning green, but has a more specific meaning of a green that leans a little towards blue. The simple textural interplay of subtle colour differences created by slip-stitches in this cardigan creates a rich tapestry, a real lesson in simplicity at its very best. Using two variations of one colour, designer Rebecca Clow shows us that sometimes a pared-back approach can allow us to really appreciate the interaction of just two shades. Perhaps Viridian is the wearable cardi you’ve been searching for! It’s been right on the tip of your needles this whole time.

We have prepared wool bundles in the original colorway and you will find the pattern in issue 47 of PomPom Magazine.

Viridian is a V-neck cardigan worked
seamlessly from the bottom up, with a subtle slip stitch rib pattern. The lower body is worked flat in one piece, then split for the upper fronts and back.
The shoulders are joined with a three-needle cast-off, and then sleeve stitches are picked up and worked in the round to the cuff. Finally, the button band is picked up and worked in ribbing.
