Construction
The River Jumper is worked top-down with two different stitch patterns, using one strand of each colour held together throughout the entire project. You begin by working the back neckline, shaping the shoulders with short rows, then knitting the back flat to just below the armholes. Next, stitches are picked up along the back shoulders to work the front, which is knitted flat with V-neck shaping down to the armholes. The back and front are then joined to be worked in the round for the lower body. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armholes and the sleeves are worked top-down in the round to a 3/4 length. For the light version of the River Jumper, we used a 1x1 rib bind-off, and for the dark version, an Italian bind-off. Both finishing methods are included in the instructions so you can choose your preferred one.
