Biches & Bûches Le Petit Silk & Mohair is a soft and luxurious blend of 30% Mulberry Silk and 70% Super Kid Mohair.

We have developed the colors of Le Petit Silk & Mohair with our producer in Italy, in according to our shades in Le Petit Lambswool, to knit them together and create beautiful additional textures and color combinations.

The color names for Le Petit Silk & Mohair and Le Petit Lambswool are the same. One can knit Le Petit Silk & Mohair with a single strand (but we would advise only for small projects as a little shawl or scarf - for a sweater held single it could be too fragile), held double or more, or with another yarn like Le Petit Lambswool, Le Lambswool, Le Gros Lambswool, for different projects and results.

We have photographed the yarn balls in order for you to see the color and the shade as close to reality as possible, there may be however slight differences from a computer screen to another, as well as one dye lot from another.

19 sts and 30 rows for 10 cm [4"] using needle size 4mm / US 6 / UK 8
22 sts and 30 rows for 10 cm [4"] using needle size 3.5mm / US 4 / UK 9 1/2

Le Petit Silk & Mohair is spun and dyed in Italy, in mills renowned for their expertise, craftsmanship, and their commitment to both people and the environment.

ORIGIN OF THE FIBERS & CARE OF THE ANIMALS
This soft and luminous yarn brings together two extraordinary natural fibers:
- The Silk, from China
- The Mohair, from South Africa, sourced from carefully raised Angora goats

The Silk
The Silk we use comes from Silk waste and cocoons from which the moths have already flown out before production. This ensures a fiber that is produced 100% in respect of animal life.

The Mohair
Our mohair comes from South African farms committed to a sustainable and respectful approach.

The Angora goats are shorn gently, by experienced hands, in calm and safe conditions.
They live outdoors, with access to fresh water, veterinary care, and protection from predators.

These farms follow the principles of the Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS): a guarantee of animal welfare, responsible land management, and respect for nature.

Ethical and Sustainable Production: This is a regenerative way of working to preserve the soil, protecting water, maintaining biodiversity, and ensuring the future of the fiber.
