The Biches & Bûches Le Gros Silk & Mohair is the finest blend of 28% Mulberry Silk and 72% Super Kid Mohair. It is the same type of yarn as our Le Petit Silk & Mohair, just much thicker, for another kind of texture and different result. With Le Gros Silk & Mohair, it is a thread that can easily be worked single. It is a very soft kind of yarn, warm and really light. It can be chosen for different kinds of projects like sweaters, cardigans, blankets, shawls, and more.

Le Gros Silk & Mohair has its own color range, with its 35 shades - Some of the colors also exist in Le Petit Silk & Mohair, but not all of them are available in both yarns. We have photographed the yarn balls in order for you to see the color and the shade as close to reality as possible, there may be however slight differences from a computer screen to another, as well as one dye lot from another.

Le Gros Silk & Mohair is spun and dyed in Italy, in mills renowned for their expertise, craftsmanship, and their commitment to both people and the environment.

ORIGIN OF THE FIBERS & CARE OF THE ANIMALS
This soft and luminous yarn brings together two extraordinary natural fibers:
- The Silk, from China
- The Mohair, from South Africa, sourced from carefully raised Angora goats

The Silk
The Silk we use comes from Silk waste and cocoons from which the moths have already flown out before production. This ensures a fiber that is produced 100% in respect of animal life.

The Mohair
Our mohair comes from South African farms committed to a sustainable and respectful approach.

The Angora goats are shorn gently, by experienced hands, in calm and safe conditions.
They live outdoors, with access to fresh water, veterinary care, and protection from predators.

These farms follow the principles of the Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS): a guarantee of animal welfare, responsible land management, and respect for nature.

Ethical and Sustainable Production: This is a regenerative way of working to preserve the soil, protecting water, maintaining biodiversity, and ensuring the future of the fiber.

A holistic approach where the quality of the yarn and respect for life move forward hand in hand.
