Le Gros Lambswool is part of our little woolen family of Le Petit Lambswool, Le Lambswool, Le Gros Lambswool. The three are the same wool, just of different thread sizes, for different projects!

Le Gros Lambswool is a beautiful wool, prepared with the special Scottish traditional savoir faire, spun and dyed in a family-owned fiber mill in Scotland 🤎 Its composition is of 100% Lambswool, the first cut of the sheep, an absolutely beautiful quality.

It is completely natural with its rustic charm all the while being very soft to knit with and wear. It has also been scoured and steam damped, so no traces of spinning oil and added loftiness.

The ball bands are designed by Caroline at the Atelier and printed in the surroundings of our partner taking a lot of care of the part of the process where the wool becomes small yarn balls, and each label manually added to each yarn ball.

We love a crafted and handmade look, which always leave small traces of imperfections, which for us, are part of the charm of natural wool and of Biches & Bûches.

Colors

Le Gros Lambswool presents a smaller range of colors, very earthy tones for big sweaters. We love the color palette of our Lambswool collection, very natural looking, which never cease to inspire us, and opens the words for so may ideas and creations 💌

When starting to think about a woolen company, Astrid was in search of the yarn she wanted to knit her designs with and to offer in our boutique. She was looking for something rustic, that reminded her of her trip to Norway in 1995 when she re-discovered the pure wool from the Norwegian sheep, as well as her Scandinavian roots. A yarn that would make a sturdy sweater, to be worn throughout the years. And that rustic yarn would have to be blended with a soft feeling, that felt good knitting with, and of course, that felt good wearing too. She found the wool that she was looking for in Scotland and it has become the heart of our yarn collection and designs.

We hope that you will like it as much as we do!
