Biches & Bûches is our world of creativity, our safe cosy space, filled with mesmerising colors and designs, and inspiration everywhere. Our mission is to create the same feeling for you, so you feel welcome and step into our universe, whether you’re browsing our website or following along on Instagram.
Who we are
We are a brand based in France, from Scandinavian roots, Danish & Norwegian, which always remain in our core inspiration. We are a very little team, with Astrid - founder, who is also our knitwear designer, and our knitting specialist (and many other things at the same time!). Astrid started learning to knit when she was about 6 years old as her Norwegian grandma taught her, which opened up a whole new world of creating, making one's own clothes, learning, and of course, the magical world of Wool and Yarns. There was one yarn shop where they lived and she would spent hours looking at all the colors and yarn types. It has always been her dream to one day, open her own Wool & Yarn shop, and create knitwear designs. We since found photographs of when she was little, and they would wear the exact same sweater with her mum and siblings, with Nordic details, and all the fun Nordic traditions you could think of.
The beginningÂ
Biches & Bûches started with our iconic Le Petit Lambswool and Le Gros Lambswool. All our other yarn ranges have been developed gradually over time and we are so happy to offer today our Lambswool range (with now Le Lambswool as well!), our Silk Mohair and our Cottons ranges, which offer great variety in projects, ideas, Seasonal fits, texture and experiences.
The core of Biches & Bûches is to offer wonderful Wool and Natural Fibers (you can read more about why we find it so amazing here), in mesmerising color palettes - that feel amazing and look amazing. We want it durable, feel wonderful to knit with it and wear just as much, and that handled with care, it should last. Astrid had been working on her first Design Collection with a dozen pieces for three years before launching Biches & Bûches, which were all presented for the first time at Fanø Knitting Festival in Denmark back in 2015.
Production
We have been working with the same mills since we started, based in the UK and in Europe (Italy), who work with great care for craftmanship and the most environmental practices possible, and a philosophy we trust: attention, care, and expertise.
Travels
We participated in our first Knitting festival with our booth at Fanø, Denmark and over the years, we have taken part in a select number of knitting festivals across Europe (or very close), meeting many knitters, fiber lovers and fellow passionate along the way.
In September 2025, we opened our first Pop-up in Paris — a beautiful milestone and a wonderful moment to meet our community in person.
