construction notes
the Sugar Plum Polo is knitted top-down, with a set-in sleeve. first, the front and back yokes are worked flat and separately. the sleeve cups are then shaped with German short rows and left on hold to work the body.
the front is knitted in a fancy broken ribbing stitch, and the back and sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch. sleeves are worked in the round until you reach the desired length. finally, you will work and sew the neckline to the neckline box.
yarn
these yardages are estimated. the total amount of yarn will depend on your personal gauge and any other modifications you make.
for this garment, I wanted to use a rustic but beautiful and quality yarn such as Petit Lambswool by Biches et Buches. this yarn has the perfect colours for the vintage look of this garment. it is an enjoyable yarn to knit, and when it blocks, it leaves a beautiful and defined stitch, but at the same time, a very handmade feeling.
