Making magazine no. 9 - Simple
- Description
The process of creating this issue has brought so much joy for Ashley and Carrie and has been a reminder of the simpler things in life, how creating with our hands often brings comfort especially during challenging times.
There will be a makealong announced next week, a fun and inspiring way for us to come together and celebrate with makers, shops, and sponsors...so stay tuned!
The simple issue was photographed on the beaches of Phippsburg, Maine, on the traditional homelands of the people of the Abenaki tribe. the Abenaki tribe is composed of many smaller groups and tribes spread over New England and Eastern Canada, all speaking related dialects of the Algonquian language – Algonquian meaning “people from the east.” Phippsburg was one of the summer villages of the tribe and a place of fishing, hunting, farming, and gathering.
There are so many beautiful simple inspired projects to discover in this issue, like the Halfmoon Strand Dress and Top by Meghann Halfmoon, the Lighthouse Cardigan designed by Brandi Cheyenne Harper, and the adorable Simple Little Bird and Nest by Susan B. Anderson. we hope you'll take a moment to sit and slow down, to explore the pages of SIMPLE and discover all the amazing projects.
We feel incredibly lucky to get to work with contributors, proof readers, editors, and designers all over the world.
