We are so happy to present our first collaboration with Orlane who has designed the gorgeous Janni Sweater.

Janni is a cosy and pretty oversized pullover with well-balanced design elements and volumes. No detail is left to chance with Janni, it will become your new favorite sweatshirt.

A few words from Orlane

"I live in the North of France with my three daughters and my partner. Like many knitters, my grandmother taught me how to knit. I became more interested in knitting as an adult, discovering the creative possibilities and the world of rustic and specific wools. What I love about knitting is seeing this natural, animal fiber transformed into a garment you can wear for years. It is important for me to be part of a movement that aligns with my values, that is to take the time to do things myself, to pay attention to our impact on the environment and to gradually emancipate ourselves from contemporary habits that are destroying the planet. If, through my designs and my choice of wool, I can make a small contribution to this, it makes me want to keep on creating!" – Orlane

Orlane writes about the Biches & Bûches wool

"I immediately loved the texture and drape of my first sample of Le Gros Lambswool. It gave me a craving for stockinette, that is what I tried to do with Janni. It is a garment that plays with volume while remaining easy to wear and accessible to all morphologies. It is knit seamlessly top down. I wanted it to be great to wear in any season, and it is the sweater you can slip into your bag for any occasion. I hope you will appreciate the details of its construction with shoulder bands, deep armholes, well-shaped sleeves and slightly high collar, all of which made it so fun to knit!" – Orlane

Janni is knitted from the top down, seamlessly. The neckline is shaped with short rows and the shoulders and upper body are worked together using increases (no stitches to pick up along the shoulder band). After the deep armholes, sleeve stitches are put on hold to be knitted later in the round. The lower body part has a few side decreases for a well-balanced fit, but you can omit them if you prefer. To add structure and durability to the garment the collar stitches are picked up at the end and knitted in the round. The ribbing ends with a simple rolled edge.
