Inese Sang x Biches & Bûches

We are delighted to present Audria Shawl and its original Wool Bundle, designed by Inese Sang with the Biches & Bûches yarns Le Petit Lambswool and Le Petit Silk & Mohair 🐚

'Audria is a symmetrical shallow triangular shawl knit top down with a Garter Tab Cast-On and regular increases along the edges and its central spine to obtain its final shape. It features smooth stockinette sections along with short and sweet sprout-like lace motif sections in MC enclosed on both sides by scalloped petal rows in stranded colourwork worked on both sides of the project.

Designed specifically for light fingering weight woollen yarn and lace-weight silk mohair yarn held together, the resulting fabric ensures the colour contrast and transition is softened by the light haze of loose fiber on mohair, while keeping the lace texture defined.

I am always drawn to thinner woolen spun yarns, maybe because they have the structure and feel of the wool yarns used in traditional Latvian knitting. So, when I first had a chance to work with Biches & Bûches Le Petit Lambswool (for my Madara Shawl designed for Amirisu Magazine issue 24), I was smitten from the moment I held the skeins in my hands. I love the light fabric and soft textures which this delicate, yet rustic yarn creates; and the natural, heathered tones are so warm and inviting. Paired with Le Petit Silk Mohair, it really blooms into such beautiful fabric, giving the stitches an ethereal halo and dimension, I could knit with it forever.'
