- YOUR WORDS
When starting to think about a woolen company, Astrid was in search of the yarn she wanted to knit her designs with and offer in the little Biches & Bûches shop to be. She was looking for something that felt authentic with a slight rustic touch, that would remind her of her trip to Norway in 1995 when she re-discovered the pure wool from the Norwegian sheep, as well as her Scandinavian roots. A yarn that would make a sturdy sweater, to be worn throughout the years. And that rustic yarn would have to be blended with a soft feeling, that felt good knitting with, and one would want to wear daily. It was in Scotland, in a family owned fiber mill that she found the possibility to make the yarn she was looking for, which would become the signature wool of Biches & Bûches: Le Petit Lambswool, which became the heart of our yarn collection and designs. It has this rustic charm all the while being very soft to knit with and wear. We hope that you will love it as much as we do.
Le Lambswool is prepared with the special Scottish traditional savoir faire, by a family owned fiber mill in Scotland 🤎
Process
It is scoured and steam damped, so no traces of spinning oil and added loftiness. Our partner takes the wool through carefully selected processes where the wool becomes small yarn balls, and each ball band is added by hand to the yarn ball. We love a crafted and handmade look, which may include small traces of imperfections, which for us, are part of the charm of natural wool and of Biches & Bûches.
Colors
Very earthy and natural looking, which never cease to inspire us.
Each yarn ball is approx. 50g with approx. 170 meters/ approx. 185 yards

"The yarn from Biches & Bûches is known for its rustic feel and beautiful stitch definition. Just looking at a finished piece made with it makes me incredibly happy, which is why it is one of my favorite yarns to use. I already completed several projects with it and I highly recommend you experience it as well."

"Le Lambswool creates an absolutely dreamy fabric. It is the perfect combination of rustic and soft, and I love how the fabric is airy and warm with just a touch of drape to it. It's an absolutely stunning sweater yarn, and I know I'll be knitting with it again."
