Our iconic Le Petit Lambswool, spun and dyed in Scotland using traditional Scottish expertise. It is prepared in a special way that makes it truly unique.

Colors:
Le Petit Lambswool is our yarn with the largest color palette, now offering 75 shades — a collection of natural-looking hues and subtle tones that inspire us endlessly and allow for so many different creations and beautiful colorwork combinations.

Process:
Le Petit Lambswool is spun and dyed in Scotland, in a family-owned mill with long-standing traditional expertise. It is washed and steam-damped to remove all traces of spinning oil and to add an incredible lightness to the wool. Our partner guides the yarn through carefully selected processes where it is transformed into small 50g balls, and the labels are then added by hand. We love the crafted and handmade look, which may include tiny irregularities that, for us, are part of the charm of natural wool and of Biches & Bûches.

Words about Le Petit Lambswool
"This yarn is the perfect combination of rustic, soft, and light and it’s a dream to use for colorwork knitting."
— Caitlin Hunter @Boylandknitworks

"The myriad of beautiful, soft colors in Le Petit Lambswool truly captivated me. The texture, with its connection to nature, and the delicious softness it reveals after a wet block are details I deeply cherish. These elements played a key role in inspiring my recent designs, the Amikomi Yoke Cardigan & Sweater [created with Le Petit Lambswool]."

About the Story
When Astrid decided to create a knitting-kit shop, she set out to find a special yarn for her designs and to offer in her boutique. She was looking for a yarn with an authentic feel — slightly rustic — that would remind her of her trip to Norway in 1995, where she discovered the pure wool from Norwegian sheep. Something that echoed her Scandinavian roots: a yarn that could become fine, colourful sweaters that would stand the test of time, worn year after year. This yarn also needed to feel soft, delightful to knit with, and comfortable for everyday wear. It was in a family-owned mill in Scotland that she found the possibility to create the yarn that would become the signature of Biches & Bûches: Le Petit Lambswool. Today, we offer two additional thicknesses of this yarn: Le Lambswool and Le Gros Lambswool. A pure lambswool, sublime with its rustic charm, while being wonderfully soft and presented in beautifully natural colours.
